A 45-year-old man has been arrested after allegedly breaching a direction to self-quarantine on a number of occasions.
The Perth man returned to Western Australia via a flight from Sydney on August 26 after being granted a G2G pass.
Upon arrival he was issued a direction to self-quarantine for 14 days at an approved residence, but when police went to check if he was complying on September 3, the man was not there.
He arrived a short time later in his car and was arrested.
Further investigations revealed the man had allegedly breached the self-quarantine direction on a number of occasions.
Police then escorted him to a secure quarantine hotel for the remainder of his 14-day quarantine period.
The Perth man will be summonsed to appear in the Perth Magistrates Court at a later date on failing to comply with a direction charges.
"The man is required to undergo all relevant COVID testing and advice from the Department of Health is that the risk to the public is low," a WA Police spokesperson said.
The investigation is ongoing.
