UPDATE: Western Power has restored electricity.

Western Power is working to restore electricity to hundreds of homes and businesses in Pinjarra and Fairbridge.

It's due to a downed power pole on the South Western Highway, between Paterson Road and Alcoa Road.

About 470 customers are currently affected.

The estimated restoration time is 12pm.

The South Western Highway between Paterson Road and Alcoa Road is closed.

Motorists are being advised to seek an alternative route.
