A man has been bashed with a baseball bat during a home invasion in Australind.
It is alleged a 38-year-old man drove to a home on Denebola Crescent around 7.20pm on Sunday.
Armed with an aluminium baseball bat, he allegedly threatened a woman before attacking the man who was asleep.
The woman locked herself in a bathroom and called police.
The victim was taken to Bunbury Hospital before being airlifted to Royal Perth Hospital, suffering severe swelling to the brain and a fractured skull.
The 38-year-old alleged attacker stole the woman's purse, before being arrested by police around 30 minutes later walking along Eaton Drive.
He is due before the Bunbury Magistrates Court today charged with grievous bodily harm, aggravated home burglary and stealing.
