Man armed with compound bow charged after firing arrows near Byford school

A 31-year-old man has been charged after allegedly firing arrows near a Byford primary school.

Police received multiple calls from concerned members of the public about a man wearing a green tactical uniform who was armed with a compound bow and arrow on Kardan Boulevard in Byford about 1.50pm on Friday, September 19.

The man was seen allegedly firing arrows into trees near the West Byford Primary School oval.

The accused was arrested and has been charged with endangering life, health or safety of a person and being armed in a way that may cause fear.

The Byford man is due to appear in the Armadale Magistrates Court on September 26.
