Dozen of sculptures are set to transform the landscape of the Rockingham Beach Foreshore this weekend.
Castaways is the City of Rockingham's premier art and culture event and will run from Saturday October 24 - Sunday November 1.
Artists and schools from across Western Australia have used recycled and repurposed materials to create sculptures that reinforce messages around environmental awareness, with more than $26,000 in the prize pool.

The event will feature three exhibitions including the main exhibition on the Rockingham Foreshore, the schools exhibition in Churchill Park and the maquette and small sculpture exhibition at the Rockingham Art Centre.
Participating artists in this years Castaways include Tony Jones, Stuart Bryce, Denise Pepper, Joan Johnson and Yuko Yakashashi.
City of Rockingham Mayor Barry Sammels said Castaways highlights the City's strong commitment to recycling and its growing reputation as a centre of cultural activity.
"The event gives emerging and established artists an opportunity to demonstrate their artistic abilities and raise awareness of important environmental issues." he said.
